Measuring Our Impact, So We Can Manage Our Impact

“You should measure things you care about. If you’re not measuring you don’t care and you don’t know.” – Steve Howard

At Xchange Connexion, we’re constantly thinking about the future we are creating.

We believe that there are 5 key pillars we should focus on to guide us towards creating a Regenerative Culture that will ensure an inclusive, thriving future for all.

Our 1st Pillar is Measuring. We and our partners recognise that we need to be constantly monitoring the damage being done to our environment and natural resources.

Through our measurements, we’ll be able to determine how we will be affected in the short to medium-term future and how future generations will be affected in the longer-term.

We’ll also be able to determine how much must be done to restore the damage, as well as how we can go further, towards regeneration levels if we’re to create a better future.

The Principle of Intergenerational Equity states that every generation holds the Earth in common with members of the present generation and with other generations, past and future.

We’re conscious of the role we are playing in ensuring that we, as the present society, are not preventing future society from meeting their needs.

We are aligning our reporting systems with the Sustainable Development Goals. The 17 Sustainable Development Goals are defined in a list of 169 SDG Targets. Progress towards these Targets is agreed to be tracked by 232 unique Indicators. Here is the full list of definitions.
